Success Stories

Bodhi & His Parents

He is playful, happy, and acts like a different dog!

He has finally put on some much needed weight. People who know us comment on how good he looks. I have not changed his diet yet, and have been very slow in introducing supplements - so this must be directly related to the transplant. Needless to say, Bodhi and I are thrilled, and very, very grateful.

Patty & Muffy O’Dell

It is so hard to imagine what would have happened to Muffy if Shirley Moore had not sent us to you!

She is now playing with her toys, loving her walks again. Awake and playful most of the day (she had been sleeping all day long before she saw you). Eating homemade food happily; so happy that she has her sparkle back in her eyes, and lastly, she is getting into trouble just like she did before she got sick, and it is wonderful to have little miss trouble back!

Why FMT?

Canine FMT (Fecal Microbiota Transplant) treatment involves transferring fecal matter from a healthy donor dog to a recipient dog's gastrointestinal tract to restore the balance of healthy gut bacteria. Here are some of the main benefits of canine FMT treatment:

01

Treats digestive disorders

Canine FMT treatment has been shown to be effective in treating various digestive disorders in dogs, such as inflammatory bowel disease, chronic diarrhea, and Clostridium difficile infection.

02

Improves gut health

The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in maintaining overall health in dogs. Canine FMT treatment helps improve the balance of gut bacteria, which can lead to better digestion, absorption of nutrients, and a stronger immune system.

03

Reduces antibiotic use

Antibiotics can disrupt the balance of healthy gut bacteria in dogs, leading to various health issues. Canine FMT treatment can help reduce the need for antibiotics, thereby minimizing the risk of antibiotic-associated side effects.

04

Cost-effective

Canine FMT treatment is a relatively cost-effective treatment option compared to other treatments for digestive disorders in dogs, such as long-term antibiotic therapy or surgery.

05

Safe and minimally invasive

Canine FMT treatment is a safe and minimally invasive procedure that can be performed on an outpatient basis, with few reported side effects.

FMT Vs Probiotics

Fecal microbiome treatment (FMT) treatment is a process that involves transferring the microbiome from a healthy Dog donor to a recipient Dog's gastrointestinal tract to restore a healthy balance of gut bacteria. With FMT, the recipient Dog is able to colonize the healthy microbiome within their own gut providing protection against disease progression and reversing many symptoms. Probiotics, on the other hand, are ingested to improve gut health and treat certain conditions but as they don't colonize the gut, they need to be taken daily to maintain the health benefits.

The benefits of FMT over probiotics include:

Greater efficacy

FMT has been shown to be more effective than probiotics in treating certain conditions such as recurrent Clostridioides difficile infections (CDI), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Long-lasting effects

FMT has been shown to have long-lasting effects, with some studies suggesting that a single treatment can lead to sustained improvements in gut health. Probiotics, on the other hand, may require ongoing supplementation to maintain their benefits.

Potential for treating a wider range of conditions

While probiotics are primarily used to treat gut-related conditions, FMT has shown promise in treating a wider range of conditions such as metabolic disorders, neurological disorders, and autoimmune diseases.

Last hope

Jasper as puppy was plagued with a stubborn protozoan infection that ruined his gut. He lost all appetite and had horrible diarrhea plus he became fearful of things that did not bother him before. He completely changed and for years he ate only one protein and nothing else. He saw 6 vets in two years but none really made difference. I tried animal biome fecal pills and made no impact. My holistic vet wanted to do actual fecal transplant but I am battling an illness and could not make the drive, so I decided to order Margo Roman’s fecal pills via Legacy Biome instead. At first he had liquid diarrhea but LB suggested spreading them out over longer intervals. I gave him SachB on alternate days. His stool the day of dosing was not good but the next day was perfect stool. I could see the fecal pills were making a difference when he would show interest in eat foods he never wanted before like veggies. I check his stool everyday and for the first time it is the right color, the right consistency, and size. We are slowly making progress and he will continue to get these fecal pills. I pray it holds and continues to seed in his gut. So far I am very pleased, this has been a very good outcome.
